Admissions, Tuition and Financial Aid

Admissions

Application to Jesse Remington High School is a four-part process. Each part is essential so that the student and family can come to fully understand the mission of JRHS, and so that the Administration can gain a clear picture of the applicant.

Part I
The Paperwork. Upon acquiring an Application Packet, the family provides the following information:

  1. A completed application
  2. Latest report card, transcript or academic record. For students enrolling from a home school setting, the parents are to provide a transcript of what the student has been studying and how evaluation is achieved.
  3. School or Clinic approved Health Record
  4. At least two recommendations from a pastor, teacher, coach or mentor.
  5. Application fee of $30.00

Part II
The Day Visit. All applicants are required to spend at least one day attending school at JRHS so they can 'get a feel' for our campus, community and programs. Scheduling is done through main office.

Part III
The Interview. All applicants and their parents then schedule an interview with Headmaster, Jeff Philbrick. Families are encouraged to bring any questions they may have.

Part IV

The Admissions Review. JRHS uses an Admissions Committee of Parents, Alumni Parents, and Administrators to evaluate all applicants. Applicants and their families do not attend the meeting. The Committee meets at the end of February, and then the end of each ensuing month if there is still space available and applicants. Decisions are "Accepted", "Denied" or "Conditional".

Tuition and Fees: 2009-2010

Tuition for the year is $6,350. Each student buys the necessary curriculum items, which typically ranges from $200-$400. Athletics have a per-season fee of approximately $50. The spring Mission trip ranges in price from $400 (domestic) to $1500 (international). We have four primary tuition plans: yearly, semesterly, quarterly and monthly.

Financial Aid

JRHS has an ever-growing financial aid fund through the fund-raising efforts of our Development Team. Partial tuition aids are awarded each year to families that meet or exceed the applicant criteria, but would not be able to afford a JRHS education. The process of finanical aid assessment is done through our tuition management company, FACTS Inc. Students have to be accepted and enrolled before applying for financial aid.

Open Houses - We schedule two Open Houses each year, one in November, and a second one in March. The November OH is an evening event, whereas the March OH is a Saturday. The OH is a great way to learn a lot about our school, as well as meet several teachers, board members and families.

Apape Lunch - Scheduled on several Tuesdays throughout the year, the Agape Lunch is a brief and effective one hour visit to our school, where guests see the community in action. In addition to a great meal and a challenging devotion, guests get the opportunity to mix and mingle with staff, students and families.
