The Rider

The Rider

Written by: Tim Foote, November 2006

Today should be a day to rejoice

But as I look out the window

The fog is so thick I can barely see

The figure of the lone rider

Coming and going as she pleases.

Her long coat and large hat is as

Black as her soul.

Her laugh echoes through the foggy hills

The crucifix and her horse beside her.

Where ever you go her voice,

Is there to haunt you.

The face of the lone rider is of sheer beauty.

It is said if you look into her eyes long enough,

The beast inside of you will enslave you.

At any time she can ride off into the sunset

And live the life she is supposed to live,

But she chooses to stay near the hills.

To haunt the souls of many,

By her beauty and charm.

Many times I pity her

Cause I see how far she can roam ‘veryday,

But her faith hinders her,

To see the bigger picture of life.

She is stuck behind her beauty

Until she travels towards the setting sun.
