The Czech Republic, Hungary, and Austrian Facts… want some trivia?

The Hungarian capital is Budapest which consists of two cities divided by the Danube River.  These two cities are Buda, which lies on the west bank and Pest, which lies on the east bank.

The population of the Czech Republic holds one of the lowest percentages of religion in the Europian Union.  According to the 2001 census, almost 60% of the Czech Republic’spopulation are atheist, agnostic, non-organized believer, etc.  About 30% of the people claim to be Roman Catholic and only about 3% claim to be Protestants.  According to 2005 Eurobarometer, about 30% believed in no higher power, spirit, god, etc.  Half the population believed in some kind of life source or spirit, and only 19% belived in a god.
Our small school will be visiting this country, could our love for Jesus and our mission to share his love to others influence this population?  I think so!  Let’s begin praying for the Czech Republic and for the people we will come into contact with during our tour!

Three great and famous composers from Vienna were Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig Van Beethoven, and Johannes Brahms.

A Place of Interest: The Josefplatz is a city-center public square in Vienna.  Within its perimeter stands a full-size statue of Joseph II, the Holy Roman Emperor, on a horse.
