Spiritualism part 1

In the first session of the Leadership Development class studying Chip Ingram’s dvd on Spiritual gifts. He also went over that we all have unique spiritual gifts that were given by the Lord and that we all don’t have the same gifts at the same level as another person would have it. An example that Chip used was on paintbrushes, paintbrushes are made to have different purposes to make a divine design. For an example you would not want to use a roller brush to make a mural. You would not want to paint an entire room with just a trim brush, it just wouldn’t work out as well as you planned. Our Spiritual gifts are given to us for use as a particular reason. Those paintbrushes were an excellent example of how different brushes are needed to make a beautiful picture and to get that exquisite shading. Also how one person with one greatly defined gift and can make a masterpiece with the correct “paintbrush”. As long as you use that masterpiece for the Lord it will be the most beautiful thing ever created. Later on he was discussing that there are different kinds of gifts and to figure out which ones you have been given. The first thing you have to do is ask yourself the necessary questions such as if you have the gift of teaching they could ask “Do I enjoy teaching or studying?”. By asking ourselves questions and also observing others to figure if you really want to go out and make a difference what is it are you better than others at is it leadership or maybe teaching or could it even be becoming a pastor.
